About the Event
According to rabbinic tradition, the Jewish people received both the Written and oral Torah from God at Mount Sinai. However, the traditional belief in "revelation '' is one of the greatest sources of division in the Jewish religious world today. We will examine traditional and contemporary approaches revelation and see that this is an aspect of Jewish thought which is not as straightforward as conventional thinking would have us believe.
