For over 60 years, Meretz Australia (formerly Hashomer Hatzair-Mapam) has been the vanguard of Socialist Zionist, progressive, and social-democrat politics in Australia's Jewish community. We are the voice of those who yearn to see an Israel that is based on social justice and that lives in harmony with its neighbours.

Jewish Pluralism
Australia's Jewish community has inherited a diverse tapestry of cultural and religious experiences. Protecting and nurturing the melting pot of Australian Jewish life honours our past and celebrates our shared future.
Social-Democratic Zionism
Israel is the home of the Jewish people. The renewal of our national home must be a progressive project dedicated to a pluralist society that protects the democratic and civil rights of all people living in the land. Building this future is the responsibility of us all.
Secular Humanist Judaism
The Jewish people are grounded by our vibrant culture, traditions, history and rituals. As our community continues to act Jewishly, so we continue to learn. Nurturing this Jewish creativity reinvigorates the solidarity of the Jewish people.
